Vorgestellt: G Cat 5.0

Tampa Bay, FL — With great anticipation and an astonished crowd of multihull racers looking on, the new G•Cat 5.0 moves quickly and effortlessly across the water in a light wind on its maiden voyage through Hurricane pass. The 5.0 is the first new-production G•Cat™ in 7 years. “It was a monumental challenge to improve on a superior design,” says G•Cat Founder and Designer Hans Geissler, “but with a new generation of materials and technology at our disposal, we just could not resist the challenge of taking our designs even beyond the next level, and create whole new categories of performance multihulls.”

Now available, the new G•Cat 5.0 meter Turbo is the first of the new line to hit the water. Combining G•Cat's proven boardless symmetrical hull design for unmatched lift generated by forward motion, a 28' mast, and a uni-rig sail system with screacher and boomless main, gives the 5.0 meter “exceptional speed and upwind abilities” according to Banks. “This boat is the future in single-handed ultrafast catamarans.”

With the optional forward trampoline and smaller sail/mast configuration, the easiest-to-sail-ever beach rental and family catamaran is born, with plenty of room for the family and gear. The patented easy rudder kick-up system and no centerboard allows even the first-timer to sail safely like a pro.
